Repair and Replacement Strategy
The best strategy is therefore to compare different combinations before confirming anything, repair all four parts, replace one part and repair the others, or replace multiple parts and use the remaining WP on the rest of the car. The goal is to enter the next race with the highest possible overall condition while preserving enough Money (that will be useful for facilities upgrade and team development). However, total Performance rating should not be the only factor you consider. If two different repair combinations leave the car at roughly the same overall P value, the distribution of that performance across the individual parts also.
Based on my testing, the general priority for upgrade is Engine → Suspension → Chassis → Body. The Engine should usually receive the highest priority, especially if the next event is a Speedway or Superspeedway, where its effect is particularly noticeable. Even in general, Engine performance tends to have the biggest impact on the car
Chassis and Suspension come next and are much closer to each other. Their relative importance can vary depending on the track, so they can generally be treated as roughly equal second priorities. The Body is usually the lowest priority when two repair strategies produce a similar total Performance rating. This means that two cars with the same overall P value are not necessarily equally effective. If one repair combination gives you more Engine performance while another gives you more Body performance, the Engine focused option will usually be the better choice. The most effective repair strategy is therefore not simply to maximize the total number shown on the car. It is to use WP and Money together in a way that produces the best overall condition while also prioritizing the components that have the greatest impact on performance. Since WP do not carry over, there is no benefit in leaving it unused. Money, on the other hand, should be managed much more carefully because it accumulates and will also be needed for future parts, Facilities, and team development
This is a major early-game improvement because Work Points are used to repair damaged parts between races and do not carry over to the next event. Increasing your WP mechanic team from 50 to 95 gives you much more flexibility when repairing the car and reduces the need to spend Money on replacement parts. For this reason, the second Mechanic is one of the strongest early investments you can make once Facilities become available
The goal of the first Career season is not simply to maximize earnings or make the AI as difficult as possible. You need to balance three things at the same time: reaching the 25,000 Reputation required to move up to the next series, remaining competitive and financially stable.
Rebuild Parts to Save Money
From the second season (Craftsman Series) once you have a strong Mechanic team and a larger WP pool, an extremely useful option becomes available as part of your regular maintenance strategy:
Rebuild Part
A Part normally has a limited number of repairs available before it eventually becomes unusable. However, when a Part has only one repair remaining, you can use Rebuild part instead of allowing it to reach the end of its life. It costs a lot of WP so is an end season tool when you have a very good
A Rebuild costs about 100 WP.
The important advantage is that the Part returns to 100% condition keeps the same Part level and receives its full set of repair slots again. This can save a very large amount of Money, especially once Parts become expensive. For example, if you already have a Part at a level that is sufficient for your current progression, there is no reason to replace it buying it with another expensive Part with the same level simply because it is approaching the end of its repair life. Rebuilding it allows you to continue using the same component for much longer.
However, there are two very important limitations:
First, do not wait until the Part becomes Worn. Once a Part is already Worn, you can no longer use Rebuild Part on it. For this reason, the ideal moment to Rebuild is when the component has one repair slot remaining, provided you have enough WP available. Rebuild should also be used strategically. Secondly, rebuilding a part consumes a lot of WP, so if the car requires very little normal repair that week and you have a large amount of spare WP, spending more than 100 WP to refresh an expensive Part can be much more efficient than allowing those.
WP Priority Between the Two Vehicles
When managing two vehicles, always prioritize the car that will be used in the next race. First, repair that vehicle enough to make it fully race ready. After that, if an important Part has only one repair remaining, prioritize a Rebuild before spending the remaining WP on the second vehicle. A Rebuild costs about 100 WP, but it restores the Part to 100% condition and refreshes its repair slots, which can save a large amount of Money compared with replacing the component later. Only after the next-race vehicle is ready and any strategically important Rebuilds have been completed should the remaining WP be used to prepare the vehicle scheduled for the following event.
So, the recommended WP priority is Next-race vehicle repairs → important Rebuilds → next-next-race vehicle repairs. This is especially important once Parts become expensive, because preserving a high-level component through Rebuild can be more valuable than using the same WP to partially repair a vehicle that will not race until the following week
WP Priority Across Multiple Vehicles
- Buy upgraded parts for the parts that you don’t want to repair.
- Prepare the vehicle that races next. It must be race-ready before WP is spent elsewhere.
- Check important expensive Parts with one repair remaining. If a Rebuild is strategically valuable, do it before letting the opportunity disappear
- Use the remaining WP on the vehicle scheduled after that.
- Hire or upgrade Mechanics when the available WP is no longer sufficient for this cycle of repair + Rebuild + preparation.
WP refresh every event and do not carry over, so unused WP have no future value. Money, by contrast, does carry over and is required for Parts, Facilities and staff. This is why efficient WP usage directly protects the Career economy.
