Before your first race in F1 25 My Team you make four choices that shape the whole career. Some can be changed later, others stay with you for good. Here is what each one does, so you can build the team you actually want: a title contender from day one or a long rebuild from the back of the grid.
1. Professional background (low impact)
| Background | Bonus |
|---|---|
| People Manager | +10% on time required to complete facility investments |
| Head Engineer | +10% resource points per week |
| Chief Financial Officer | +10% cash per week |
This gives you one skill point in your skill tree. It is the only choice that barely matters, because you can reassign the point later from the season menu (you just have to redo the related activity).
2. Starter facilities (high impact)
Basic, Advanced or Extensive. Better facilities mean more resource points, faster research and development and extra bonuses, but also higher weekly costs. Full comparison: Starting facility investment guide.
3. Starting car development (high impact)
| Choice | Car performance at the start |
|---|---|
| No development | 11th, whatever power unit you choose |
| Some development | 5th (4th with Ferrari power unit) |
| Extensive development | 1st (3rd with Renault power unit) |
Every upgrade included in each option: Starting car development and power unit guide.
4. Starting cash (depends on facilities)
None, Some reserves or Significant reserves. Your real money situation depends on the combination with your facilities: the weekly balance goes from about $1.27M (None + Extensive) to about $2.22M (Significant reserves + Extensive). All nine combinations: Starting cash and finances guide.
Quick picks
- Win straight away: Extensive development with a Red Bull, Mercedes or Ferrari power unit starts you as the fastest car.
- Real underdog story: No development puts you 11th with any engine, a proper challenge.
- Most money to spend: Significant reserves, where Advanced and Extensive facilities end up with nearly the same weekly balance.
